Welcome!

Overview: The mechanisms that control the balance between self-renewing and differentiating hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) divisions are one major interest of our group. Since these processes are often deregulated in leukemia, we study molecular pathways in both normal and leukemic cells to better understand how proliferation, self-renewal and differentiation are disrupted by leukemia-associated fusion oncogenes. Specifically, we are interested in global and unique functions of H3K4 methyltransferases in hematopoiesis and leukemia. Please browse our project, personnel or mentoring pages to find out more!

Land Acknowledgement: We acknowledge that our campus is located on the traditional territories and ancestral homelands of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Ute and many other Native American nations. We recognize the devastating and lasting impacts of the forced assimilation and forced removal of Indigenous peoples from their traditional territories and ancestral homelands, including the lands that are now part of Colorado and our campus.
