Perpetual Kyei, MS

PhD Candidate, Cancer Biology Program

Perpetual Serwaah Kyei is a PhD candidate in Cancer Biology where her research focuses on pediatric KMT2A-rearranged leukemia. Her work investigates how dysregulated immune and inflammatory signaling contributes to leukemia survival, and therapeutic resistance.
She holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Her previous research examined the mTORC2/SGK1/NDRG1 signaling pathway in pleural fibrosis, resulting in a peer-reviewed publication. She has also co-authored a review on the molecular mechanisms and therapeutic development of KMT2A-rearranged leukemia. Her long-term research interests center on cancer biology, leukemia, and the development of targeted therapies.
